Top Picks for Family Fun this February Half Term
Many people are looking forward to February Half Term and fortunately for us we are in the wonderful location of Oxfordshire, where there are many fun family activities to keep everyone entertained over the half term week. Here are some of our top picks.
Lords and Ladies Workshops at Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Place always makes a fantastic day out all year round, but this half term you can keep your little lords and ladies amused with Blenheim’s fun aristocracy themed workshops between 11th-19th February. With opportunities to make music with historic instruments, play historic games such as blind man’s bluff and dress up in outfits fit for a lord or lady there is much to amuse the children. With many other things to explore at Blenheim such as the Pleasure Gardens and beautiful walks as well as many places to stop for refreshments you could easily spend the whole day here.
Waddesdon Manor’s Family Cookery School and Orienteering
This half term, nearby Waddesdon Manor are opening up their very own Family Cookery School between 13th-17th February from 10.30-3pm. Suitable for children between the ages of 7-11years old, you can have fun creating your own sweet treats in the Manor restaurant. If you prefer something a bit more outdoors, why not get involved in Orienteering Week running from 11th-19th February from 11am-3pm. With four different routes to choose from, you will be bound to have a muddy adventure whichever you choose.
Spring Chickens at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
The Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford always has something family-friendly running throughout the year and this half term you can join in with a joint event with Oxford University Museum of Natural History at the Spring Chicken event. Find out all you have ever wanted to know about chickens with hands on exploration. Running from 13th-15th February from 1-4pm.
Millets Farm Centre Activities
There is lots of activities to choose from this half term at Millets Farm Centre. Nick Cope is back with his family fun entertainment music show on February 13th. If you prefer a bit of magic, you can catch Magic Peter between 14th-16th February showcasing great tricks and amazing antics. Catch a fabulous puppet show from Theatrix Arts performing The Adventures of Sinbad the Sailor on February 17th. If you are looking for something more hands on and interactive, join in with Children’s jewellery making workshops between 13th-17th February. All bookings can be made via their website.
